DOE Announces $61.4M for Emissions Reduction Research
   

April 27, 2021 — The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has announced $61.4 million for funding technologies that produce low-cost, low-carbon biofuels. DOE believes biofuels are the most promising path to zero-carbon aviation. This funding will be critical for developing biofuel technologies at the scale needed to decarbonize the transportation sector. Topic areas for the “Bioenergy Technologies Office Scale-up and Conversion” funding opportunities include high-impact biotechnology research, development, and demonstration to further the scientific knowledge and engineering knowledge needed to affordably produce low-carbon biofuels.
