JetBlue Pledges to be Carbon Neutral by July 2020

February 12, 2020 – JetBlue is aiming to be the first carbon neutral U.S. airline. The airline plans to offset emissions from all domestic flights and use sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) on its flights from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) to become carbon neutral by July of this year. The offsets will include investments in projects that directly reduce or absorb harmful emissions. The SAF to fuel the 17 daily flights out of SFO will be purchased from Neste and mixed with traditional jet fuel between a 25-40% blend.
