June 8, 2021 — Munich Airport has announced that Sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) will be available beginning in June this year. The Munich Airport’s fuel depot, which is supplied by various companies, will be receiving deliveries of SAF blends. The blend supplied will be conventional jet fuel with a mixture of renewable fuel, which will allow for lower-emissions during flights. The airport believes using SAF will play a key role in decarbonizing the aviation sector.
