Aemetis Receives Permits for Carbon Zero Renewable Fuels Plant

May 4, 2021 — Aemetis, a renewable natural gas and fuels company, has received 19 permits from the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District that allow them to begin construction of their Carbon Zero renewable fuels plant in Riverbank, California focused on producing negative carbon intensity products. Each permit allowing the Authority to Construct (ATC) states a specific set of equipment and conditions for operation, and receiving these permits marks a significant milestone for Aemetis in the process of building this plant. Aemetis is developing this plant to utilize renewable oils to produce low carbon intensity sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). The company expects the Carbon Zero biorefinery to be completed and begin operations in 2023, and double production by 2025.
