April 29, 2021 — International Airlines Group (IAG) has announced their commitment to using sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) in 10% of their flights by 2030. They are the first European airline group to make such a commitment to SAF usage. Their plan is to purchase one million tonnes of SAF per year, which will cut the group’s emissions by two million tonnes by 2030. IAG has also committed to extending its net zero reductions to its supply chain as well. The group plans to work with their suppliers to enable them to achieve net zero emissions by 2050 for the products and services they provide IAG.
