About the event
The military has been an early contributor to aviation fuel development, as well as the initial adopter. For both high-octane aviation gasoline and kerosene jet fuels, use in commercial aviation soon far exceeded military use once adopted. This presentation will include a brief discussion on aviation fuels in the 1930s-1950s and conclude with a discussion of the large SAF evaluation programs of the U.S. Air Force and Navy in the 2006-2016 timeframe. These efforts were coordinated with the emerging and ongoing CAAFI and ASTM SAF efforts.

CAAFI webinars are intended to provide a forum for members of the SAF community to discuss progress and related gaps and challenges, share lessons learned, methodologies, and strategies in order to promote communication among stakeholders and enable commercialization of SAF.
