Business Aviation Community Demonstrates SAF distribution and use while positioning aircraft for EBACE

22 May 2019 - Two world-wide suppliers of jet fuel worked with the business aviation community to enable multiple flight demonstrations going to London and Geneva. Avfuel supplied sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) from Gevo to multiple OEM flights that transited to Geneva from Farmingdale NY, including those from Gulfstream, Dassault, Bombardier and Embraer. Following a SAF conference at TAG Farnborough (outside London) organized by the Sustainable Alternative Jet Fuels Coalition, World Fuels Services supplied additional Gevo-produced SAF to fuel 22 flights from Farnborough to Geneva for those attending the European Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition (EBACE).

This demonstrated not only the feasibility of fueling business aircraft with SAF, but also the continued commitment of the business aviation community to advancing the development and use of SAF. In May 2018, the Sustainable Alternative Jet Fuels Coalition released a guide to using SAF for the business aviation community, which was followed by a demonstration event at one of the busiest general aviation airports at Van Nuys, CA in January of this year.
